The Class of 70 &
Friends Create and Enjoy a Fun and Successful Event!

About 100 indoor beach goers showed up to at the Pagoda Restaurant's Lasalle Room on the evening of Saturday, August 17, ready to party.  And party they did! From the carnival-style, immensely popular Fishing Booth ... to the latest and oldest styles flaunted on the Red Carpet during the Beach Runway Fashion Show ... to the scandalous dance number by the famous Beach Babes ... to a packed dance floor energized by the rockin' surf tunes and brown-eyed soul sounds of the not-so-famous Smokin' Hot Hibachis ... to over 250 prizes and giveaways ... the BabyB's Beach Bash overflowed with laughter, smiles, lively conversations, and lots of movin'-and-groovin' !

Over-The-Top Donation Generated for the Alzheimer's Association
All proceeds from the Fishing Booth and the Beach Country Store were donated to the local Aloha Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.  This amounted to a cash donation of $1,787 !!!  In addition, several personal donations were made by guests and individuals who could not attend the Beach Bash event.  The funds raised surpassed every projection, estimate, goal, and expectation we had.

Every person who participated in the fundraising activities and made donations -- in time, energy, merchandise, as well as monetarily -- had a vital part in this overwhelming effort.   Special mahalos go to Teresa Iwashita, who was in charge of both the Fishing Booth and Country Store, and also to "Aunty T's Fishing Club" who provided the manpower.

Co-Sponsoring Schools
The Class of 70 from McKinley and Kaimuki joined forces with Roosevelt to help make this event a humongous success and memorable night!  The Beach Bash was not the first "tri-school production" and it surely won't be the last.

Last but far from least, a Big, Sincere MAHALO to all of those who attended the Beach Bash, and again, to each person who made such generous and selfless donations of prizes, pupus, baked and home made goodies, muscle-power, time, energy. and money !!!
