Officially dubbed "Boomer-ang Back to the 50s and 60s", this event was largely spearheaded by the Class of 70 from three schools: McKinley, Kaimuki, and Roosevelt. One of Hawaii's premiere oldies bands, Wasabi, provided fabulous music from the era of 45 records, transistor radios, and K-POI Poi Boys. At least 180 fun-loving, never-get-old guys and gals showed up, many decked out and dressed up in 50s and 60s garb. The dance floor became a sea of people movin' and groovin', and smiles and laughter flowed abundantly without hesitation. Take a look at the Riders in these pictures and you'll know that the good times were rolling in ample supply.
Now Playing: "Crystal Blue Persuasion" by Tommy James & the Shondells
"Maybe tomorrow ... when He looks down on every green field and every town;
All of His children and every nation; there'll be peace ... brotherhood;
Crystal blue persuasion, yeah!"
