Big and sincerest MAHALO to all who attended, helped, supported and donated their time, energies, prayers, ideas, talents, money, gifts, and other resources to make HAWAII SIX-0 a resounding success.  As a result, we have a lot of new and wonderful memories, and have made some new friendships that make our lives that much richer.  We humbly thank you for blessing us mightily.

Thank you SO much for such a memorable & remarkable evening - way beyond our wildest expectations of a B-day Bash, much less a 60th b-day! Everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest, the comments were ALL positive & impressive! Kudos to you!

Having the Lion Dance kick off the night was a great idea, according to all the oohs & aahs! Also the Tribute to our classmates really hit home for all!

Mahalo again for the memories!

Aloha,
C&G

Thank you for orchestrating our class halau performance, I was humbled to be in such loving company, to hula to 'live' music & can hardly wait until our next gathering ... soon I hope.

To the entire Committee, congratulations, what a great job! Everything was perfect! All those extra touches from the raffle, the ono cupcakes (thnx Wilma & Teresa), the table decorations/balloons, our classmates' band, etc., all added to the wonderful evening event. When is the next Reunion?

I suggest the next time our Chinese dragon performs, they need to do the hokey pokey on skates, like the good old days at Rainbow Roller Land (Channing ... just kidding) ;-)

Much blessings,

What a totally enjoyable gala event y'all put on!...fantastic everything: program card, decorations, Lion Dance, table decor, slide shows, ono ono prime rib buffet, games and prizes, entertainment and fellowship. So now that it's over...it ain't over...we need your talents for 'Boomer-ang Back to the '50s & '60s'.

Words cannot describe the awesome job that you did to put on the most fabulous 60th birthday bash. It was fun, entertaining, the BEST!!!!! It was non-stop for 5 hours and that’s hard to do. There was never a dull moment. The food was great, the cupcakes were yummy, all the old pictures and short story book – OMG, how did you find all of that? The hula was great and so was the band. Wow – I’m speechless!!!! Can’t wait to see what you have planned next.

Hey there Rough Riders,

Congratulations on a most successful birthday celebration!!! I am so honored to have been able to attend and even participate in your special event.

· Glenn and Wilma, your dedication and persistence paid off for it was obvious that everything was well planned and executed. From the time we arrived, “checked in” and received our favors, we were embraced by all. The lion dance was a real kick and the tribute to classmates who have passed on was very moving. Please share my gratitude and kudos to your committee. I hope you are able to take some time off to relax now that it is all over – you deserve it!

· Ainsley and Teresa, thank you for your leadership, inspiration and for sharing your talents so unselfishly. You truly exemplify aloha in all that you do and say. Mahalo for allowing me (and Sharon) to join your group. We are very humbled to have been included with your classmates. The practice sessions allowed us to renew acquaintances and develop friendships with so many: Hinano, Pam, Donna, Jane, Nikki, Blanche, Wilma, Moani and others. Thank you to Ainsley and Nathan for the beautiful music and for the great comments during our performance which left so many of us “in stitches.” It’s been a very, very long time since I danced and the experience left me wanting to return to hula (if only I had some spare time).

· Gayle, thank you for your part in the event for which I’m sure you devoted much time and effort. The different games, activities, and prizes made everyone happy… there were a lot of happy faces around the room. I even got the nerve to go up and talk to some people who I haven’t seen for more than 40 years as well as to people who I never met before that night…imagine that!

· Thank you for the onolicious cupcakes Wilma and Teresa. You’re great bakers and it was an extremely nice touch to the birthday celebration, candle and all!

· Mahalo to Glenn for writing the lyrics and asking the “outsiders,” Rusty Onishi, Steve Kaneshiro, Steve Chang, Fay Takaesu, Paula Yokochi and I, to sing “Sixty Candles” to our RHS classmates. It was so much fun to learn the lyrics, choreograph the moves, and muster up the nerve to perform in front of such a large audience.

· Lastly, mahalo to an up and coming musical group: Steve, Glenn, Layne, and Jane, please let the others in your group know how much your performance was appreciated. You really, really, really sounded great (promise!) and I think you’re ready to hit the road for some “paying” gigs. I hope you consider doing it again as I know I truly enjoyed myself – I actually danced with some people I didn’t know and although I failed to get some others up on the dance floor, there was a whole lot of fun to go around as everyone recalled fond memories while listening to your music!!!

I had a blast that night! Just seeing people I haven`t seen since high school. I saw Grant Yoshikami, my buddy I use to cut out and go eat at Tori`s Lunch House. He had the Plymouth Fury. And then
there was Dale Shimizu and Bryan Teramoto. Dale use to be our bass player. Good job in putting together the slide show. The "IN MEMORY OF OUR CLASSMATES" was touching and emotional and very teary eyed.

Yes! Playing in the band was a feeling of accomplishment! At the end of the last song, I felt a high, seeing everyone on the dance floor clapping and having fun.

Good job MC-ing! You just have the natural gift of communicating with people, something I could never do.

Hats off to everyone and especially you and Wilma for a memorable evening. Again, Good Job!

A heartfelt thanks to all of you who were "One of Many" & part of the Birthday Bash. All the planning & organizing would have been meaningless without you...our friends. Whether you came from out of town, never knew each other in high school, a guest or from McKinley/Kaimuki by the end of the night we were...all friends. Life is meaningless without family and friends.
It was a very special night full of unforgettable memories. When we blew out the candles, we all hoped to have many more magical moments. So once again thank you....stay healthy & be happy.

Now we ready to BOOMER-ANG back to the 50's and 60's with the Kaimuki/McKinley gang next month. Info is in the fyi link. You can dress up for the 50's or bust out your beatle boots, mini skirts (as if I fit) or love beads. You can just come as you are...but just come to party!

Well done too all those that planned and excited the night. You can take the girl out of Hawaii but she'll always and forever be a Rough Rider and damn proud of it. The slide show of our class mates that were called home before their time was the highlight for me and to whoever put that together you touched my heart. Thanks again for adding such a great memory that I will have forever.

Dear Class of 1970,
Although we weren't with you, we thoroughly enjoyed viewing the photos and the video. It was as if the party was in my backyard with all of you there.( I really don't have that large of a lot.) We hope to one day return to the islands for any future partying. With love from FV.
